A night to remember: The Banner Ball returns in 2026
4/1/2026
Mark your calendars for an unforgettable evening of elegance and impact

The Banner Health Foundation is pleased to announce that The Banner Ball will take place on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026, at the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa. This black-tie affair promises to be an extraordinary celebration of hope, healing and community—all in support of Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center locations in Arizona. Betsy Roudi and Jo Van Denburgh will serve as Co-Chairs while Derrick and Amy Hall will serve as Honorary Chairs. Three Banner MD Anderson oncologists will be honored that evening: Dr. Michael Choti, Dr. Brittany Murphy, and Dr. Jiaxin Niu, for their dedication to providing compassionate, expert care.
Leading an all-star Host Committee, Co-Chairs Betsy Roudi and Jo Van Denburgh both bring deeply personal connections to Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center. Betsy, a breast cancer survivor and powerhouse leader in the Young Presidents Organization, discovered her cancer through early detection at age 44 and remains deeply grateful to Banner MD Anderson for the exceptional care she and her family continue to receive. Jo's commitment stems from her family's profound experiences with Banner, including her nephew's battle with cancer and her sister's current treatment for early-onset Alzheimer's at Banner Sun Health Research Institute.
The participation of Derrick and Amy Hall as Honorary Chairs represents a powerful alignment of leadership, resilience, and dedication to cancer care. Derrick, President and CEO of the Arizona Diamondbacks, has transformed the organization through his "Circle of Success" philosophy while leading charitable efforts that have resulted in over $100 million in donations through the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation. A prostate cancer survivor himself, Derrick established the Derrick Hall Pro-State Foundation to support others facing similar battles and is frequently recognized among the most influential CEOs in sports.
Amy Hall has been a vital presence in the Phoenix community for over 20 years, currently serving as Chair of the Board of Visitors, Arizona's oldest women's charitable organization. A proud Arizona State University alum and devoted mother, Amy is also a breast cancer survivor who has courageously shared her journey battling an aggressive form of the disease to inspire and advocate for others. Her strength, resilience, and commitment to the community have made her a respected figure throughout Arizona.
Making Cancer History® in Arizona

When Arizona’s leading health care provider, Banner Health, joined forces in 2011 with the country’s top-ranked cancer center — The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center — the landscape shifted for cancer patients and their families throughout our region. With its main campus in Gilbert and extension sites in downtown Phoenix, the northwest Valley, and Scottsdale (opening early 2027), Banner MD Anderson gives patients access to the same cutting-edge technology, multidisciplinary approach, and leading cancer care available at MD Anderson in Houston. Patients at Banner MD Anderson receive care based on the same protocols and practice standards provided at MD Anderson and benefit from integration with MD Anderson clinicians and researchers.
Proceeds from The Banner Ball 2026 will advance critical initiatives including diagnostic imaging and technology, clinical trials of promising new treatments, community outreach and education, and supportive programming for patients, caregivers, and survivors. With more than 2 million patient visits and nearly 200 clinical trials underway, Banner MD Anderson continues to revolutionize cancer care in our region.
