Earlier this month, DPR Construction hosted its 6th annual DPR Cornhole Classic in Phoenix, uniting partners and employees for an afternoon of connection, purpose, and impact. The event raised $65,000 to support Banner Children’s Community Clinics and Healthmobile, providing free primary care to uninsured and underinsured children across the Valley.

Services offered at the Community Clinics in Tolleson and Mesa and aboard the Healthmobile that travels the Valley include well-child checkups, immunizations, sick visits, school and sports physicals, mental health screenings and health education – all at no cost to families. The program serves children under 18, with a bilingual medical team reaching Spanish-speaking and low-income areas across metro Phoenix.

During the event, guests heard from Dr. Rahul Chawla, Division Medical Director for Pediatric Specialties at Banner Children’s at Thunderbird, and Jennifer Hudson, nurse practitioner with the Healthmobile pediatric care team. Their remarks helped bring the mission to life, showing how community support helps Banner meet families where they are – especially where access to care may be limited.

Last year, with support from partners like DPR Construction, the Banner Children’s Community Clinics and Healthmobile cared for more than 3,500 children, providing immunizations and physicals to help kids stay healthy, attend school and participate in activities. Staff also connect families to reduced-cost services such as prescription glasses, imaging, medications, and specialist evaluations.

We are deeply grateful to DPR Construction, event sponsors, players and attendees for turning a fun afternoon into meaningful support for Arizona kids!
