A well-developed estate plan
protects what you own, ensures
it is distributed according to your
wishes after your lifetime, and
provides for your family.

The beginning of a new year is often a time to make resolutions and set goals. If you are one of the 55 percent of American adults who do not have a will or other estate plan in place, make a resolution to make 2020 the year that you finally create your plan.

A well-developed plan protects what you own, ensures it is distributed according to your wishes after your lifetime, and provides for your family. It should include a power of attorney, an advance directive, and, if you so choose, trusts for children and grandchildren and even provisions for the care of your pets. Your plan can also include provisions for favorite charities, such as Banner Health Foundation or Banner Alzheimer’s Foundation, with many strategies affording you and your heirs significant tax advantages.

We have what you need to help make the estate planning process easier. Simply download our free Estate Planning Starters Kit. The kit includes a lesson book to help you understand the benefits of smart estate planning and an electronic personal record book that you can complete and bring to your professional advisor to help create your plan.

We’re happy to help you start the planning process or answer any questions you have along the way. Feel free to contact Pat Elder, Chief Development Officer for Planned Giving, at patricia.elder@bannerhealth.com or 602.747.4485.
