Better Together donations in action
Programs and services across
Arizona benefit from gifts through
Banner Health’s Better Together employee giving campaign set records in 2018 with $1.76 million raised in its 10th anniversary year.
This support goes to 40+ programs across Banner each year, but only one fund supports a range of patient programs and innovative pilot projects across the system: Banner Health Foundation’s General Fund. Banner team members directed more than $108,000 to the General Fund in 2018.
Where do General Fund donations go?
Gifts to the General Fund are awarded annually through the Highest & Best Use program. Here are just a few of this year's awards:
- Reducing Clinician Burnout is a multi-faceted approach to addressing burnout among clinicians through a holistic perspective, pilot programs, and wellness coaching.
- SAFE-T (Sexual Assault, Forensic Evaluation & Treatment) provides comprehensive, compassionate medical services to assault victims in Tucson, including forensic processing, education resources for victims, and a formal fellowship to providing survivor-care training for providers, first responders, and community partners.
- Behavioral Health for Adolescents includes a reconfiguration of an area of the Banner Thunderbird Medical Center's emergency department to provide a safe, secure, respectful space to care for the 80 to 90 adolescents and teens who present each month needing behavioral health care.
Who decides where General Fund donations go?
Banner leaders submit projects for funding consideration each year, with the finalists recommended by the Arizona region presidents and approved by the Foundation’s board.
