Expressing gratitude is healing, both for the giver and for the recipient. We invite you to share your gratitude in 2021 through our Banner Health Hero program. Your gift honors the health care heroes who made life better during your stay while directly supporting patient programs and services that matter most to you at a Banner nonprofit facility. Each honored Banner Health Hero receives a certificate commemorating the thoughtful gift and a lapel pin to wear proudly. The Banner Health Hero award is presented by the employee’s supervisor during a shift or team meeting, bringing positive attention to your Hero among peers.

Recognizing a profound hero
One such Banner Health Hero is Dr. Wilber Su, Chief of Cardiac Electrophysiology and Director of the Electrophysiology Fellowship at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix. Late last year, Dr. Su received his 10th Hero recognition for outstanding care.
Dr. Su is a world-renowned cardiologist
and is the single-most experienced
operator of the Cryoballoon Ablation
procedure to treat Atrial Fibrillation.
Dr. Su is known for excellence – originally trained in engineering at MIT, he is a world-renowned cardiologist and is the single-most experienced operator of the Cryoballoon Ablation procedure, performing more than any other physician in the United States. A pioneer in his field, Dr. Su is the first in the world to perform the newer generation of the procedure, known as Arctic Front Advance® Cardiac CryoAblation Catheter. Dr. Su is an active teacher of the procedure and sees patients from all over the country and world who seek out his unmatched expertise.
Keeping patients at the center of his ethos, Dr. Su is leading the establishment of a Comprehensive Heart Rhythm Center of Excellence at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix, which will provide patient care that focuses on an educational, multidisciplinary, and cutting-edge approach, empowering patient-led management and advocation of care.
