Partners in Wellness featuring Tucson Roadrunners

Banner Health Foundation gratefully acknowledges the Tucson Roadrunners for the support of the Game On: Youth Athlete Support Fund, Diamond Children’s Cancer Center, and Diamond Children’s Toy Closets through their fundraising efforts during the 2021-2022 hockey season.
We recently sat down with their team to learn what inspired their support to Banner Health Foundation through the Partners in Wellness program.
Describe the ways in which you partner with Banner Health Foundation?
We are proud to call Banner a partner in many ways, including as the exclusive sports medicine and medical provider of the Tucson Roadrunners, and in that time, we have grown our relationship with the Foundation. The Roadrunners reach 150,000 fans per season and are extremely generous and eager to support our partners. Through numerous ventures, we fundraise and assist where we can while the Foundation helps us generate awareness about our organization and impact in the community.
How does this partnership reflect the Tucson Roadrunners’ core values?
Since day one, the Roadrunners have focused on building a presence in Southern Arizona to make an impact on and off the ice. Banner Health Foundation is one of the primary partners that allow us to maintain that focus and intentionally make a difference.
What has been the most meaningful moment in working with pediatric patients?
Despite what troubles pediatric patients are facing, we have been fortunate enough to see their smiles, which means the world to us. One of the best moments of the season is when our players and mascot, Dusty, visit patients at Diamond Children’s Medical Center. We can’t wait to continue this regular activity.
