Scottsdale Interventional Forum showcases world-class heart care

Banner Health is transforming the treatment of complex coronary disease through a strategic partnership with Heartflow, a leading cardiovascular technology company. This innovative collaboration combines advanced CT scan technology with state-of-the-art interventional tools to improve outcomes for patients with significant calcium buildup and plaque in their coronary arteries.

The partnership was among many leading-edge innovations featured at February's Scottsdale Interventional Forum 2026, a premier, four-day educational conference that drew nearly 800 cardiovascular professionals to Scottsdale—including interventional and general cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, electrophysiologists, fellows, nurses, technologists, and other allied health professionals. What started 22 years ago as an intimate gathering of innovators has evolved into a world-class educational experience for cardiology physicians and staff as well as community members interested in heart health.

Community engagement through Heart to Heart Live

Some 550 community members attended Heart to Heart Live, the SIF's signature public event sponsored by the Banner Health Foundation. Attendees experienced the latest advances in heart care firsthand, learning from some of the nation's leading cardiologists about breakthrough treatments and prevention strategies. A highlight of the evening was watching a live cardiac procedure performed by interventional cardiologist David Rizik, MD, at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix.

"Walking into the Heart to Heart Live event, we could feel a buzz in the room," says Debbie Lentsch, who attended with her husband Tom. "It was filled with local residents, state and city representatives, and business leaders."

Deeply committed to their community, Debbie and her husband Tom made a $3 million gift in 2024 to support Banner Health's premier cardiovascular program.

"A huge panoramic screen covered the width of the room, giving everyone a great view of the presentations," Debbie continued. "To see and hear the doctors at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix start the procedure and explain the problem was fascinating and educational. Overall, it was an impressive, informative evening. We had no idea that Banner Cardiology handles so many types of heart issues."

A powerful partnership for medical education

In 2026, SIF joined forces with Banner Health to deliver a continuing medical education experience that's broader, richer, and more impactful than ever before. As one of the nation's largest nonprofit health systems, Banner Health brings a comprehensive approach that integrates cutting-edge research, advanced clinical care, and educational excellence.
