Rogerio C. Lilenbaum, MD, is the Director of the Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center. Previously, he was a Professor of Medicine at the Yale School of Medicine and served as the Chief Medical Officer of the Yale Cancer Center and the Oncology Service Line.

Dr Lilenbaum obtained his medical degree from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro School of Medicine and completed his fellowships in Hematology/Oncology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, and the University of California, San Diego Medical Center. He earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical Epidemiology/Clinical Investigation at the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, Massachusetts.    

Dr Lilenbaum is an expert in Thoracic Malignancies, having made important contributions to the research and care of patients with advanced lung cancer. He served on multiple National Cancer Institute committees and research groups, on whose behalf he published over 100 manuscripts and abstracts. He served on several committees of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and was appointed the first Chair of the Community Research Forum.

Dr. Lilenbaum was a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical Oncology, and has been a reviewer for the Annals of Internal Medicine, Cancer, Clinical Cancer Research, among other journals.
