 The active lifestyle of residents of the greater Phoenix area, our major league professional teams and NCAA Division 1 college athletic programs, and the explosive growth of youth sports participation have together created a growing demand for world-class orthopedic and sports medicine care here in Arizona. Banner – University Orthopedics and Sports Medicine includes Banner Sports Medicine Scottsdale and Banner – University Sports Medicine and Concussion Specialists in Phoenix, with expert teams that include physicians, neuropsychologists, physical and occupational therapists, and athletic trainers.

Banner Health opened a new, state-of-the-art sports medicine and performance training center in Scottsdale in 2023. In partnership with the Arizona Diamondbacks, Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury, and the University of Arizona, Banner Sports Medicine Scottsdale provides sports medicine and orthopedic care, athletic performance training, a surgery center, physical therapy, imaging, a concussion center, nutrition counseling, and sports psychology care. These services are available to everyone, from Little League and youth soccer players to high school and college athletes, from professional athletes to active adults.

We must make strategic investments to support the latest technology and equipment, graduate medical education programs, under-resourced patient support, youth outreach and injury prevention education, and performance assessments.
