02/22/2024

Banner Health Foundation gratefully acknowledges The Cigna Group Foundation for their support of Banner Children’s Community Clinics Mental Health Initiative. As a Partner in Wellness, their generosity for this program addresses the mental health of the vulnerable population of children served through the Banner Children’s Community Clinics, who face significant barriers to accessing care, including an inability to pay for services, language barriers, transportation difficulties, and inadequate awareness of available community services and resources.

Companies, foundations, and government agencies that generously support nonprofit Banner Health with an annual philanthropic investment of $10,000 or more are given the distinction of Partners in Wellness. Their gifts to the Banner Health Foundation and/or Banner Alzheimer's Foundation have a significant impact on patients and the broader community, supporting a wide variety of care programs, supportive services, medical research, community health education, and more.

Describe the ways that The Cigna Group Foundation has found meaningful impact in supporting Banner Children’s Community Clinics Mental Health Initiative.

Mental health challenges among youth can be exacerbated by outside factors including poverty, food insecurity and homelessness. By removing a barrier to care with the Banner Children’s Healthmobile, Banner was able to offer timely intervention with underserved youths and provide mental health resources that will hopefully start them down a healthier path. The Cigna Group Foundation is proud to support programs making such positive impacts in its communities.

How does this partnership reflect The Cigna Group Foundation’s goals?

In our neighborhoods, towns, and cities, The Cigna Group Foundation has the ability to rise up, come together and help everyone achieve better health and vitality.
