Community Health Programs & Subsidized Services
Outside the walls of our hospitals and clinics, philanthropic support allows nonprofit Banner Health to go beyond providing care to providing community good. Banner Health provides nearly $1 billion annually worth of community benefit—programs and activities that improve the health of everyone in our community. As examples:
- Meeting the social and nutrition needs of vulnerable, low-income seniors through the Banner Olive Branch Senior Center;
- Providing basic primary care to uninsured children through the Banner Children’s Community Clinics and Healthmobile;
- Caring for the complex medical and non-medical needs of Alzheimer’s patients and offering a variety of free resources, education and support groups for those caring for a loved one with dementia;
- Conducting clinical trials of new cancer treatments that give patients new hope for a cure;
- Ensuring hospitalized children are fully supported and empowered through programs such as Child Life, music and pet therapy, on-site hospital schools, toy closets, special celebrations and more;
- Training and educating the physicians, nurses and allied health care professionals of tomorrow to meet our community’s future needs; and
- Operating important community health resources like the Banner Poison Control & Opioid Referral Line to save lives throughout our communities.
Your support makes these vital programs possible, as most do not generate any revenue or have a source for reimbursement. You may designate your gift to the program that is most meaningful to you.
