About Pulse of the City Soiree

A celebratory and festive evening, the Pulse of the City Soiree is the signature annual fundraising gala for nonprofit Banner Health, Arizona’s largest healthcare provider.

This year, community leaders, physicians, philanthropists, friends, and Banner Health leaders will come together for a celebratory evening to raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer care and research at the Blood & Cancer Centers at all three Banner Children’s medical centers. While supporting this worthy cause, guests will enjoy a cocktail reception, networking, mystery prizes, and a raffle, followed by superb dining, an inspiring program, and live music and dancing—all in the spirit of ensuring a bright future for Arizona’s children.

Proceeds from the 2024 Pulse of the City Soiree will advance care, research and talent within Banner Children’s pediatric cancer care and research programs:

  • CARE: Proceeds will provide vital operating support for the Children’s Blood & Cancer Centers at all three Banner Children’s medical centers in Arizona, which provide family-centered cancer care including chemotherapy, surgery, and bone marrow transplant to more than 4,000 children annually. Diamond Children’s Medical Center in Tucson is the only Children’s Blood & Cancer Center in Southern Arizona and the only pediatric cancer center outside the Phoenix metro area.
  • RESEARCH: Proceeds will also support Banner Children’s medical centers’ full participation in the national Children’s Oncology Group, giving Arizona kids access to the latest and most promising investigational treatments right here at home, without the financial burdens of traveling out of state. With over 10,000 members, the Children’s Oncology Group unites physicians, laboratory scientists, nurses, psychologists and others working to beat cancer in children, adolescents and young adults at more than 200 leading children’s hospitals, universities, and cancer centers across North America, Australia, and New Zealand. Through collaborative research, the Children’s Oncology Group has improved rates for children’s cancer at a pace much faster than any one individual or single institution could accomplish alone.
  • TALENT: Proceeds will also support recruitment of expert pediatric subspecialists including interventional radiologists, geneticists, and palliative care specialists to offer kids and families world-class care and the most advanced and specialized treatment and support.
