From unique challenge holes to excellent food on and off the course to the now-legendary Mystery Hat Wall and a golf ball launcher, this year’s Banner Children’s Open ensured a terrific day was had by all at Wildfire Golf Club at the JW Marriott Resort Desert Ridge. The tournament raised more than $820,000 for the Child Life program at our three Banner Children’s medical centers in Arizona.
Serving as this year's Co-Ambassadors to the Banner Children's Open, Mateo, Charlotte and Owen represented the thousands of pediatric patients served by Banner Children's Medical Centers in Arizona and benefit from the care and attention they receive from Child Life Specialists while hospitalized and during medical appointments.
Banner's Child Life Program is funded entirely by philanthropic support. Creating a positive experience for hospitalized children is the foundation of Child Life at Banner Children’s medical facilities. Working with pediatric patients, parents and siblings, Child Life Specialists use a variety of tools and skills to reduce stress and anxiety while promoting normal growth and development. Through play, pre-operative teaching and even distraction and coping techniques, these specialized professionals become invaluable resources for the entire family. This year’s Banner Children’s Open will benefit Child Life programs throughout the Valley and Tucson. Outgoing tournament co-chairs Bryan Adams and Jeff Cordell generously gave three years of service to the event, ushering in creative and new elements during their leadership, including an award for Best Dressed Foursome and “wow factor” prize and raffle packages.
Congratulations to the foursome representing CED University! Each player received a custom Ping Putter, Troon Access+ Card, plus an indoor putting mat for winning the Final Challenge. Don’t miss out on this unique tournament in 2026. Stay tuned for a save-the-date and additional details in months ahead.
