Partners in Wellness featuring the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust

Banner Health Foundation gratefully acknowledges the Nina Mason Pulliam Trust’s longstanding support of Banner Olive Branch Senior Center, which provides a variety of services to low-income seniors in Sun City and surrounding communities.

We recently sat down with the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust team to learn what inspired their support of the Banner Health Foundation.

Describe the ways that Pulliam Trust has found meaningful impact supporting Banner Health.
By supporting Banner Health’s Olive Branch Senior Center, the Trust is able to directly reach West Valley seniors who are most vulnerable to experiencing social isolation, food insecurity, and mobility issues. The Center offers exercise and nutrition programs, counseling, health and educational events, health screenings, legal assistance, meal programs, and entertainment for individuals ages 60 years and older, including their spouses and handicapped persons of all ages.

How does your past support of Banner Health reflect Pulliam Trust’s giving strategies?
Nina Mason Pulliam believed in helping people become self-sufficient through crisis intervention, education, training, mentoring, and employment. In order to help seniors be self-sufficient, the Trust supports programs that assist them in maintaining their independence and remaining in their homes whenever possible. Olive Branch does just that by offering a place for seniors to get a hot meal, participate in free activities, make friends, and get the health care they need. The Center also hosts a robust food pantry and has a fleet of 15 vehicles to deliver meals to seniors in their homes.

What advice can Pulliam Trust share with others considering an investment in Banner Health?
