Banner Estrella and ASU partner to introduce students to health care careers

Banner Estrella Medical Center in west Phoenix and Arizona State University partnered for the first time to host the TRIO Summit, a program aiming to assist first-generation students, low-income students, or students living with disabilities to pursue a career in the medical field. Banner Estrella offered an exclusive hospital tour and guest speakers from various roles hoping to spread their passion for health care among the young and aspiring participants.

Hyundai Hope on Wheels supports Tucson teen and young adult cancer patients

Just in time for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September, Hyundai Hope on Wheels awarded Tucson’s University of Arizona Cancer Center a $100,000 Imagine Grant. Funds will support the Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Program, offering age-appropriate and patient-centered recreation and wellness activities focusing on the unique needs of adolescents and young adults (ages 13 – 39) during cancer treatment.

Coming Soon: Care Card

The Big Pink Bus, a program of Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center, is honored to be the 2023 and 2024 beneficiary of The Board of Visitors Care Card program, Arizona’s largest retail fundraising event. Care Cards will go on sale in September for $60 and can be used during a 10-day shopping event, Oct. 20-29, for a 20% discount at 350+ Valley retailers and restaurants. Hitting the road this fall, The Big Pink Bus will bring lifesaving, mobile 3D mammography to women across the Valley.
