Jeremy Sharpe to lead campaign for Diamond Children’s Play Zone

Tucson business leader Jeremy Sharpe is leading the Banner Health Foundation’s effort to build a Play Zone at Diamond Children’s Medical Center in Tucson. Once completed, the bright, non-medical Play Zone will give hospitalized kids and teens a space away from their hospital rooms and medical care team to work with certified Child Life Specialists, whose therapeutic interventions are largely play-based—as this is how kids connect to the world around them and master their experiences.

Expert panel makes recommendations to engage more participants in Alzheimer's research

With an expected 13 million Americans projected to develop Alzheimer’s disease by 2050, the disease threatens to overwhelm the health care system, families, and caregivers. Yet only one new therapy drug, aducanumab, has been approved in the last 20 years. Discovering new treatments will require making it easier for more people from diverse backgrounds who are willing and qualified to participate in clinical trials.
