October is National Estate Planning Awareness Month



Many people overlook the importance of having a will or estate plan as part of their overall financial wellness. Having a will means that you, rather than your state’s laws, decide what happens to your property and children upon your passing. A comprehensive estate plan contains a power of attorney, an advance directive, and, if you so choose, trusts for children and grandchildren, and gifts for favorite charities. Work with a qualified advisor or attorney to develop your will, trust or estate plan.

$5 million gift from Fulton Family Foundation supports prevention, treatment and research of childhood obesity



The Fulton Family Foundation has made a $5 million gift to the Banner Health Foundation to establish the Dr. Robin Blackstone Childhood Obesity Center of Excellence at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix. The Fulton Family Foundation is chaired by longtime Valley homebuilder and philanthropist Ira A. Fulton.

This gift establishes Arizona’s first center of excellence dedicated specifically to pediatric obesity and metabolic disorders—a passion of Mr. Fulton’s based on his own experiences as a patient of Dr. Robin Blackstone, MD, FACS, FASMBS, and the experiences of several of his family members.
