Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust awards $750,000 to Banner Health



Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust has awarded $750,000 in unrestricted funds to the Banner Health Foundation to help during the COVID-19 pandemic. Banner leadership chose to allocate these funds to the Supporting Our Staff (SOS) Fund to help its health care workforce during this challenging time.

Established in 2011, the SOS Fund provides financial assistance to employees facing a temporary financial hardship. Through Banner Health’s annual employee giving campaign, Banner’s own employees have collectively contributed more than $1 million to the SOS Fund over the past nine years to assist their co-workers in times of need. Some 2,000 employees have received financial assistance from the SOS Fund to date.

Donate homemade masks



The Banner Health Foundation is gratefully accepting donated homemade masks for our team members and patients (note that these will not be worn by providers directly caring for COVID-19 patients, nor in any procedure rooms or isolation areas.) The Foundation has a process in place to safely receive, sort and launder these masks and then distribute them in our hospitals. We welcome your donations!

Banner Health Foundation awards $4.2 million through Highest and Best Use Awards


2020 Highest and Best Use Awards

The Banner Health Foundation board of directors recently voted to award a collective $4.2 million to six programs and services across Banner Health’s many medical centers in Arizona. The funds, ;awarded through the annual Highest and Best Use Awards program, come from unrestricted charitable gifts to the Banner Health Foundation and the interest earnings from the Foundation’s assets, excluding endowments.
